A visit to the Imperial War Museum in London this week proved to be an informative afternoon at the "Fashion on a Ration" exhibition celebrating the influence that fashion played on the psyche of the British
public during the World War II.
Of course there were Siren Suits on display here - a forerunner to the Onesie !
Originally invented as an overall to be worn over ordinary clothes during the dash to the air raid shelters, they quickly caught on as a practical garment to wear at any time especially since life during the war years became more physically demanding.

Even Winston Churchill adopted the Siren Suit !

And in time this garment took on more glamourous elements.
